Workshop: An introduction to the ‘Art Journal’

About the Experience:

Welcome to your art journal — a personal space to explore, experiment, and nurture your creativity. There’s no right or wrong, no judgement, and absolutely no experience needed.

This 2.5-hour workshop invites you to discover how an art journal can become both a creative outlet and a visual record of ideas, thoughts, and inspiration. Learn how artists use journals to capture colour, pattern, and texture, and how this practice can support mindfulness and creative growth.

You’ll be guided through different journaling approaches, with time to play and explore a wide range of materials and techniques. Whether you’re just beginning your creative journey or rekindling a past practice, this workshop offers space to connect with your creativity in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Suitable for adults and student artists aged 16+.
