'Plein Air' Landscape Mixed Media Exploration
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Tewantin’s landscapes with a three-hour Plein Air Mixed Media Exploration workshop, led by local artist Lucy Laino. This session invites you to document the intricate interplay of flora and landscape along the Noosa River.
About the Experience:
Through guided exploration, you will experiment with watercolours, collage, frottage, and nature printing—techniques that involve direct interaction with natural materials—to create a unique artwork or series of artworks inspired by your surroundings.
Throughout the workshop, you will be encouraged to slow down, observe, and translate the environment into expressive mixed-media compositions. Whether you are drawn to the delicate patterns of leaves or the expansive vistas of the riverbank, this session will provide the tools and guidance to bring your vision to life, fostering a deeper appreciation of nature.
A collaborative morning tea will offer an opportunity to connect with fellow participants, share insights, and reflect on your creative process.
Our small group setting ensures personalised instruction, fostering a supportive atmosphere for both beginners and experienced artists.
Details:
o The workshop will take place outdoors at Tewantin RSL Memorial Park, where we will engage in plein air studies.
o Please wear comfortable, sun-safe clothing and bring a plastic container for washing brushes. A small blanket or stool is optional but may enhance your comfort.
o A maximum of 10 participants ensures individual support and fosters a sense of community; a minimum of 5 is required.

o All materials are provided. You’re welcome to bring any personal materials or items to incorporate into your artwork.
o Please bring something to contribute to morning tea, a water bottle, and, if desired, a thermos for a hot drink. Local cafés are nearby for coffee.
o Open to all experience levels, ages 18+
o Bookings are essential, as places are strictly limited. A deposit will secure your spot; this is refundable or transferable only if the workshop is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. If only the deposit is paid upon booking, please ensure that the remainder is paid on or before the workshop date by bank transfer or cash.
